There are already a few shopping promos going on at the moment that can really up the number of miles you earn per dollar spent. These offers include your ability to earn 10x United miles per dollar spent at select restaurants and retailers in the MileagePlus X app and the sitewide “mystery bonus” number of miles available via the AAdvantage Shopping site.
But in case neither of those offers meet your shopping needs, or you simply have already used them as much as you can, there is now another bonus campaign available via the United MileagePlus Shopping site that runs from 6/9/16 – 6/23/17 and awards up to 1,500 bonus United miles for your online purchases.
Earn a one-time United mileage bonus:
- Spend $150+ from 6/9/17 – 6/23/17 and earn 500 bonus United miles
- Spend $350+ from 6/9/17 – 6/23/17 and earn 1,500 bonus United miles
These bonus miles are on top of those awarded from the individual retailer you are utilizing and the rewards you earn by paying for your purchase with your credit card of choice. If you spend right at $350 to trigger the 1,500 mileage bonus, that is like earning an extra 4+ miles per dollar spent, which at some retailers that usually have lower payouts (Apple, Walmart, etc.), that isn’t too shabby.

During the “Summer Bonus” bonus campaign, which runs from 06/09/17 through 06/23/17 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will earn a one-time bonus of up to 1,500 MileagePlus® bonus award miles on qualifying purchases, in addition to the standard MileagePlus miles earned from shopping online through the MileagePlus® Shopping mall. This one-time bonus award will be determined using one of the following tiers, based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period: Tier 1 bonus: 500 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $150; or Tier 2 bonus: 1,500 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $350 or more. “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles.
